Good Morning Everyone! God bless you this morning! Hope you’re all doing well. Let’s get started…
Review: So far, we have gone through 1 Corinthians 12:12-26
- We become a member of the Body Christ as soon as we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- There isn’t anything that can keep us from being a part of the Body of Christ.
- I “belong” to the Body of Christ.
- I was created to be a member of the Body of Christ.
- I am no less, or better than anyone in the Body of Christ.
- I can share my pains, as well as my joys, with the Body of Christ.
At this time, share with each other how the above statements affect: 1) you personally, and 2) how you see the Body of Christ as a whole.
Today’s Devotion: 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV) ~ Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
Q: Who makes up the Body of Christ?
A: Anyone who has accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Q: Is my friend, who is saved but goes to a different church, a part of the Body of Christ?
A: Yes
One of my first experiences of seeing the Body of Christ in action was when I participated in our church’s annual flea market. Believers who didn’t attend our church, would come to help, and/or donate items. Each person would do their part to make that event be a success. Every person jumped in: set up, being part of putting together chicken bar-b-q meals, dealing with money, helping/mingling with people who came, and clean up. SFG has experienced the Body of Christ at work when we participated in LOCC; as recipients, and as servers. I appreciate the fact that God does not single out people, churches, and/or ministries, but sees us all as equal and all have a specific function. Let’s be active with the gifts/talents/abilities that God has equipped each of us with. We are complete individually, and others are encouraged to do their part, when we are all doing what we were created to do. What are things that you like to do? How can you do those things to bless others?
Let’s pray: Dear God, You created us as Your masterpiece, to do good works, and to bring You glory. We ask that You will speak to our hearts, and show us ways that we can be a blessing, and be supportive to one another. We stand in agreement with our brothers and sisters today; for any needs they may have, for any burdens they are carrying, for all of our unsaved loved ones, we lay them all at Your feet. We pray that You would heal those who are sick. We pray for everyone who has been affected by COVID 19. We pray that this virus would come to an end in the name of Jesus. We trust in Your great plan. We pray for those who are without jobs and may be struggling with finances. We continue to pray for the Agape Ministry and the groceries we will be giving to our neighborhood. We pray for these families – please meet their needs, and may they come to know You as we extend Your love and kindness to them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
