Good Morning Everyone! Last week we celebrated Resurrection Sunday. Are we still celebrating our risen Savior today? Jesus is alive! And He is preparing a place for you and me so that we can be with Him for eternity! Take time to remember the scripture we read in Matthew 28 and share with each other what comes to mind.
Review: So far, we have gone through 1 Corinthians 12:12-20
✓ We become a member of the Body Christ as soon as we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
✓ There isn’t anything that can keep us from being a part of the Body of Christ.
✓ I “belong” to the Body of Christ.
✓ I was created to be a member of the Body of Christ.
Feel free to share with one another anything else that God has helped you to see.
Today’s Devotion: Please read 1 Corinthians 12:21-26
Q: Does God see me less, or better, than anyone in the Body of Christ? A: No
Q: Who is there for me when I hurt? Is there anyone there to share with my joy when I am happy? A: The Body of Christ
Rejection… it’s hurtful. One of the beautiful things about belonging to the Body of Christ is that we should never be, feel, or act like, we are rejected. In this scripture, we see from the very beginning that we need each other. Each of us has a specific function. Just like our own bodies, an eye sees, an ear hears, a nose can smell, etc. How I am used of God, is no better, or no less than, how you are used. It is God who has put us together, and there should be no division between us. We should have equal concern for one another other. I am here for you, and you are here for me.
>>>Next week, 4-26-20, please focus on vs. 27. We will discuss and answer the following questions in next week’s prayer and devotion:
1) Who makes up the Body of Christ?
2) Is my friend, who is saved but goes to a different church, a part of the Body of Christ?
Let’s pray: Dear God, You are a good, good Father. We thank You for the gift of life, both here on earth, and the eternal life that You have promised. May we consider what we have learned in Your Word today, and see ourselves, and others, the way that You created us. May we base our words and actions, toward ourselves and others, on the truth of Your Word. We pray for every person’s unspoken requests, and unsaved loved ones. We pray for everyone who has been affected by COVID 19; those who have lost loved ones, those who have been infected, those who are researching for a cure. We pray Your protection for all the doctors, nurses, and workers in our hospitals. Give them strength, as well as good rest, as they do their jobs. We commit all that this world is going through into Your hands. We know you have a Master plan. Help us all to seek Your Holy Spirit for direction and guidance in what you would have each of us contribute to the many different needs that we are faced with. Let us be Your hands and feet and voice in order to give You glory and point others to Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
